14 Ways To Change Your Life

1. Know Who You Are

Know YourselfIf asked who you are, what will you say? I’m not referring to your name or title or position you hold at work or in life, NO! Are you a follower or a leader? Are you a risk taker? Are you an action taker, do you procrastinate or get the job done? Are you always on the go? Do you take responsibilities and challenge yourself?

Know who you are, it is not a difficult thing to do, but it is really simple to know yourself. You can do this by Meditating or tasking yourself with some form of short-term goals to determine how you go through with them.

When you are able to “know who you are” you begin to see and do things that bring excitement in your life and you take control of your surroundings. You will clearly see your limits and your strong suits and work on both attributes so there is a balance.

2. Positivity

Positive Vibes OnlyWhat are you harboring in your thoughts and mind? If I sent you an email, and I told you it is full of viruses, would you open it? Obviously, NO! So why are you entertaining all these negative mentality and plots in your head?!

Our mind is the greatest asset we have as humans and we just fill it up with all sorts of unwanted information, materials and plots that does us no good but harm. We pay no great respect to our mind. We forget that what we think of, is what we end up doing in a way of some sort.

Take care of your mind and direct its energy towards the positive things that life brings. Channel positivity through your mind and manifest that in all you do and turn things in a bright direction for you and those around you.

3. Exercise

ExerciseIf you have read some of our posts, lately, you will begin to realize that we talk about exercising a lot. That is because there are so many benefits to exercising. Aside from all the health benefits, you get a boost to take on the day.

Two years ago, during my personal training days, I had 3 students tell me that, although the training is tough, they get the feeling of being on top of the world throughout the day and that is why they always came back for more intense workouts.

Exercising engages you to test your emotional endurance and boosts your productivity and keeps you on the go.

You really do not need a gym membership and you can just do countless exercises at the comfort of your own home. You can do this 3 or 4 times a week and see how things will go for you.

4. Challenge Yourself

Test your LimitWhen you are playing your favorite mobile game candy crush, Farmville, angry birds and so on or when you are playing your competitive video games online or campaign, do you not feel a rush or thrill when you beat a challenge or beat your own high score?! The answer is, Yes!

Apply that in reality, when you are able to run for 20mins, finish a 5K in 15mins or manage to get that difficult task your manager assigned to you done and way ahead of the deadline, it feels great. If you are able to do all the things you normally do, why stop there?!

Go the extra mile, take on that task that no one wants to do at the office, challenge yourself and test your limits. If you win, great, if you fail, great, at the end of the day, you will learn a new skill or gain an experience for the next time.

5. Read Developmental Books

ReadReading is a fantastic way to gain knowledge and amazing information. They say the average CEO reads about Five (5) books a week. Maybe you enjoy reading more books than the average CEO does but question is, what books are you reading?

The drama, mystery, fantasy and comic books are all great and entertaining. Sometimes we even relate with some of the characters in these books so well that we live our whole life based on theirs.

Enough of those books! Next time at your favorite library, grab yourself a book about self-development or improvement and you will be amazed by the amount of information you will find. I have put together a few of the best sellers that carry unprecedented information geared towards life-changing and Success.

My favorites are The Secret by Rhonda Byrne and Millionaire Success Habits by Dean Graziosi. Get yourself a copy and try them out.

6. Set Goals

Set GoalsThe heading says Set Goals, but I mean set BIG goals. If your goals do not scare you, then they are not big enough.

Like Robert Schuller said, Not having a goal is more fearful than failing at your goals.

You can also say having a bad plan is better than no plan at all. So go ahead and set yourself some goals. Work towards your goals each passing day because the goals will not achieve themselves.

No matter how big or small your goal may be, it is achievable if you believe and works towards. When you check off some goals you set, don not just end there, you are still breathing so set more goals and cross them all off someday to come.

7. Healthy Eating

Eating HealthyNo, No, No! I’m not saying go vegan, although being vegan is awesome and you get to enjoy all the rich nutrients the plants have to give you. I only know this because a few vegan friends told me about it. So, no, I’m not saying be vegan.

Anyway if you feel you want to go that route, then please do because it is amazing. What I mean is that eating the right foods in the right quantity of nutrients benefits your body and soul. You will boost your immune system to aid you in fighting diseases and other health-related issues.

The right foods also provide nourishment for your minds to think properly and make some great decisions. Enough junk and only go for seconds when you absolutely have to or at grandma’s house.

8. Get Out of Your Comfort Zone

Comfort ZoneWe can all agree here that getting out of the comfort zone is not an easy thing to do in the beginning. But once you are out of the shell, you will experience a whole other world is out there waiting for you.

Get involved with all the activities in your immediate surroundings and see the world through the eyes of the people around you. Here is an in-depth breakdown of How To Be Involved.

Life is full of bliss behind the door of fear.
– Will Smith

Get out of your bubble and enjoy the life you have been blessed with.

9. Devote To a Cause

CauseThere are so many movements out there currently with all the hardships and problems going on all over the world. Both local and foreign have great organizations that either provide aid to others or their members.

In these organizations, you get to see the reality and struggles that others have to go through and it will either make you or break you. You will realize that you have had it so good and that someone will do anything to get what you have.

That will make more compassionate and you will begin to see things from different perspectives. When you do this, you are not only helping others, your reward will come to you as the universe always gives back. Help others to help yourself in return.

10. Take Risks

Smart thinkingOkay, you are probably thinking of the scenario where your mom asks you if your friends jump off a bridge will you follow? This question gets asked rhetorically sometimes whenever there is an opportunity you want to take.

Parents, please let your kids make some decisions for themselves, all you have to do is guide them through it.

What if the bottom of that bridge lies the freedom and life your kid needs and not what you want for them. Guide them in making them great thinkers and problem solvers when they grow up.

Take some risks in life, you will learn when it fails, and will be really glad you did when it all works out.

11. Learn From Past Experiences

PastThe past is only there to serve as a guide for our present. Holding on to the past will not help you but rather hold you back from your true potential. If you want to make it big, fail big, and let that guide you from making the same mistakes again.

Maybe someone you know tried something in the past and it did not work for them, so they tell you all the failure you are likely to face when you do it. Instead of letting that failure experience prevent you from undertaking that task, rather learn from their mistakes, draw a plan based on all the things they did that did not work and use it as a cheat sheet.

The past only has power if you let it. Change your ways of viewing the past and remember to live in the present because you are here now, not the past. Leave it in your rear view and drive off forward not reverse.

You can not drive well while looking in the rear view mirror, look through the big windshield in front of you and take a glance every now and then in the rear view mirror.

12. Believe In Yourself

BelieveAmazing-extraordinary-superb is what you are. Put that at the back of your head and never forget that. You are the most precious and powerful creation of all things and you want to tell me you do not believe in yourself? You are capable of doing anything you set your mind to.

What you believe in is what will keep you going, better to believe in yourself. If you are being told you can’t do something, believe you can do it and just do it to prove them wrong.

When I started making this post, I did not think I would make it this far, but I’m here now and I believe in myself to finish this. So can you. You can do anything, my dear, you only need to believe in you.

13. Seek a Mentor

Life Coach

Last but not least is when you have tried everything in your power and nothing seems to be working for you the way you want, then it is probably time you started seeking a mentor or a life coach.

This one can be a friend or relative who you know for a fact that they are doing well for themselves and have time for others to teach and help them. You do not necessarily have to pay them but gratitude is always recommended in a polite and respected way.

You can also invest in getting someone outside of the people you know to dedicate their time to working with you. These are somewhat costly and so only do so when you are definite that you need one.

14. Live

Live Life

Lastly, live. Life is full of adventure wherever you find yourself. You can have an adventure at any given you age.

Get outside, go to the concert, go on that fishing trip, take that vacation, make that move, take that opportunity, talk to that girl or guy you are crushing on, go to that live game, play with your dog, ride a bike, party all night, play that bingo game with grandma, go on the cruise and so much more. The list can go on forever.

Do things that make your heart pump, enjoy the thrills and emotions along the way. Just do not forget to LIVE,

Life is beautiful. Yeah, it has its downs but the sun never stays down forever and the night always gives way to the morning. It all makes it worth it. While there is still breath in you, make everyday count and LIVE LIFE!

In The End, It Is What You Do That Count!

I like your suggestions for better living. I have been reading about minimalism and am trying to simplify my life as well. It is not so easy. Or maybe I am just refusing to let go of the things I am used to. Anyway, your post gave me some things to think about. Thanks!

Some great advice you have for changing a life for the better. Finding the right mentor seems to be the most challenging. Great advice for diet and exercise. Simple changes can make feel so much better! Self-discipline is so imperative.

Absolutely right, Robert. Self-discipline is a must if you want to achieve something. There are so many challenges that will come so without discipline it makes it hard to get over them.

These are all great tips to change your life. I am a believer in always learning so I love your tips on reading developmental books as well. Eating healthy makes a huge difference as well. When I lost over 50 lbs it changed many things in my life, my health and my self-esteem most of all. Thanks for sharing.

    • Sir Dantes Post authorReply

Wow, thank you so much for sharing your experience with some of these tips. Self-esteem is indeed one of the major parts when it comes to developing ourselves. Without it, we feel inferior and think we do not belong. Eating healthy is always great and I’m glad you were able to achieve that weight loss.

Great tips. One of them that doesn’t resonate with me very much is to devote to a cause. Gah! So many political causes have underlying negative agendas. I’ll skip that one.

    • Sir Dantes Post authorReply

I know what you mean Melinda. So many political agenda in most of them, but there are some that are actually devoted to humanity and peace and lending a hand to people in need.
Thank you for sharing Melinda 🙂

Really interesting read, lots of motivating thoughts. Taking risks certainly hit home as this is something I feel I should do more often, but somehow it’s easier living in the now easy comfort zone.
As you said believe in yourself because no one else is going to do it for you.
    Thanks for sharing.

    • Sir Dantes Post authorReply

Thank you, Mark. Happy to know you found some that hits home for you. It is a process, getting out of the comfort zone. Take it one day at a time and you will master the art.
Taking risks is good, i do not see them as risks, but I see them as opportunities that can be great when treated well.
      Thank you for sharing,
      Sir Dantes

You never know what you can achieve unless you try. Sometimes you just need a positive attitude and strive forward.
